As Nandan’s grandmother, I can tell all of you that he truly loved his Great Grandmother Pedatha. He would join her for her daily prayers, ring the bell after the puja, he spent a lot of time with her and adored her from the bottom of his heart, just as she did too.

You guys are truly inspirational. Before the JFI-Love event, I did not think about preparing many of my Avva’s recipes. But your event and your gesture of compiling Pedatha’s recipes has motivated me to try at least some of them, if not all. So recently I prepared my Avva’s ‘pela pindi undalu’ and posted it in my blog today. Though it was a big process (atleast for me), it was really worth trying. Even though I’m glad I tried it, I’m also a little sad that I did not try this when she was alive and appreciate her efforts for preparing it for me whenever I wanted it.

Pratibha and Jigyasa,
This is such a great surprise. Thank you so much. I am honored. ‘Cooking at Home with Pedatha’ made me fall in love with cooking. I still remember my family’s disbelief when I made them an elaborate dinner with everything from Vangi Bath to pachchadis and podis. It aroused a lot of curiosity and they insisted on seeing the book that inspired this feast, only to find that the person on the cover was very well known to them. I am told that I too met her at her grand-nephew’s wedding, who is also my cousin. It is unfortunate that I didn’t get to know her, but her recipes will live on. Thank you.
Pratibha, I am very glad to have known you through this book and your visits to my blog. I wish you the very best in all your endeavors, and I look forward to your next book.
